Zoo Trip

Today we took a field trip to the Fort Worth Zoo with Aliza's preschool. Ben came with us as well because of his recent injury he did not go to school today. The weather was great, a little chilly in the morning since it was so cloudy but not to bad. We stayed with some friends for a little while and then went off on out own.

This was Lilly's first trip to the zoo and she loved it, all the animals were out and playing. She really liked watching the orangutans. Of course the kids wanted to ride the train and they all liked that as well.

The highlight of the day of course was going into the bird enclosure and getting to feed the birds. Lilly did not want to leave, she loved having the birds land on her stick. Right after the birds it started to rain on us so we headed back to the car. Overall it was a great day and we were glad aunt Jenn got to come with us!

Bumps & Bruises

Ben and Aliza have had a rough couple of days, let me tell you. Aliza who is so accident prone came in on Saturday crying. She had been playing at the neighbors house when she fell out of a power wheels car and landed on the cement! Initially she had a huge area of swelling right above her eye, but once we iced it, it went down rather quickly. What she was left with was a huge brusie that covers her eyelid all the way back to her hairline. This is a few days old now so it is turning all yellow and green, it is not pretty!

Yesterday was Ben's first baseball game of the season. He was really excited to play and to have aunt Jennifer there to watch. Well in the first inning he went to catch a fly ball and the ball hit him directly on his nose! Don said they did not know what had happened at first but once he moved his glove blood was just pouring from his nose. We were afraid it was broken, we took him to my office for an x-ray and determined that it probably wasn't broken luckily just injured. Ben was relieved to hear that it wasn't broken. His nose however is swollen and bruised. He got to stay home today since it was still so sore. Poor guy! Now we just have to get him back on the baseball field so he doesn't end up with a life long fear of baseball!

I told my sister that I should probably not leave the house with my children since their faces are all bruised up, who knows what someone might think!!!

HaPPy BiRThdAy to ME!!

So I am just a little behind on my blogging. I have been very busy with kids, work, baseball and just with life in general!! So my birthday was a few weeks ago, the kids were so excited - we are always excited for birthdays in this house. The each made me a card which were very cute. Don made tacos for me for dinner and a yummy chocolate bunt cake for dessert. For my birthday gift he took me out shopping for clothes and then out for dinner at Salt Grass. It was a fun night, we had planned to go to the movies that night but our plans got derailed since earlier that day we bought a new CAR!! That however was not part of my birthday present - I made that much clear early on, we just happened to buy a car around the same time :) I will post pictures of it later. Anyway we had a great time. Thanks for the yummy dinner and cake Don!!
