Gymnastics Show Off

Aliza had her first gymnastics "competition" yesterday. She loved it! They had learned routines for all four events and then performed them in front of an audience, they were even given scores for each event. Aliza's best score came on the uneven bars which is her favorite event. On her floor routine during her warm up she hit a perfect handstand! Everyone was so amazed, including her! She loves gymnastics and is really doing well. I recorded each of her little routines and will try and post them later, it was very cute and they all recieved a medal for their effort.

Cakes, Cakes, and more Cakes!

I have also been very busy making cakes! This is a hobby that I am really beginning to enjoy and get better at! Let me know if you need a cake, I will be happy to make it for you. My mom has done cakes for years so doing them myself has always been a little intimidating because I see all my flaws and compare it to my mom's cakes who has years of practice! Oh well it just makes me better in the end! The frog cake was for Lilly's d-day, one layer was chocolate with peanut butter filling and the other was yellow cake with chocolate mousse. The black and pink cake I made for my bosses b-day, it was white with strawberry filling. The T-Rex cake was my first cake I made for someone else - very exciting! It was chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling. That one was particularly challening because it had to be sculpted, Don helped me and I was so happy with how it turned out! The apple cupcakes were for the teachers on the last day of school, not my best work but they were rushed. The teachers liked them and thats the important thing right!

Sewing crafts

I got a new sewing machine recently at a garage sale of all places (it was brand new!) and have been sewing quite a bit, the same thing really, but they have all turned out so cute I just can't help it! Here are a few of my creations:

Arizona is getting Wilde!

Well it's official we are moving to Arizona!! We are happy and at the same time sad to be leaving all we love here in Texas. We have GREAT friends here who I will miss dearly! They have been my family while we have been here in Texas, we will miss our great house that we love and our ward family as well. But we are looking forward to being near family again! We will live very close to my sister Kimberly and half days drive from most of our other family members. Aliza is thrilled, she asks everyday when we can leave, Ben is coming around to the idea but was not happy when he first found out, he was sad to leave his friends and the things he loves here in Texas, I really believe he is a Texas boy, Texas is in his blood! He loves his TCU Horned Frogs! House is up for sale so we may be gone before the end of summer, Don actually has to report in AZ on June 28th so hopefully we won't be far behind.

School Awards

Both Ben and Aliza did very well in school this year. Aliza's award assembly was on Tuesday and Ben's was on Wednesday. I was able to attend for Aliza, and Don attended for Ben, but forgot the camera :( Both kids recieved their Eagles Pride medal which is an award for good behavior through out the entire school year. It is the one I am most proud of them for! Aliza recieved awards for 6 hour reading club, citizenship and excellence in music. Ben recieved awards for excellence in math, reading, citizenship, and a few others. He also kept straight A's for the entire school year! Way to go Ben and Aliza.

Aliza and Mrs. Henry - this was Mrs. Henry's last year teaching, she retired at the end of the year :(
