We love Disneyland!

On our trip to California we of course had to go to Disneyland. Aliza was so excited about going she talked about it everyday for at least a month! We spent two days there and had a great time. Lilly was wonderful and liked the rides as much as the other kids and she loved Mickey Mouse, she even kissed him on the nose. Some of the highlights of the trip were the fireworks show, it was amazing as usual, and Ben and Aliza both really enjoyed the parade. Ben's favorite ride was probably the Matterhorn and Buzz Lightyear astro blasters, he rode both of those rides at least 5 times! Aliza was able to go to the Princess Faire - she was in heaven. We heard Cinderella tell her story, we saw a coronation ceremony where several of the Princesses came down and danced in the crowd. Aliza got to dance with Sleeping Beauty, and she was so excited because "Aurora touched me on my back! I can't believe it!" She then was able to meet several princesses and have them sign her autograph book included in that group was Jasmine who at this point in time is her favorite.

It was fun to see the kids get so excited. One funny story that happened (although it was not funny while it was occurring!) On the last night me, Jenn, Josh, Adam, and Ben decided to go over to California Adventure before it closed, Adam had some fast passes for the roller coaster and wanted to use them. Of course this ride is all the way at the back of the park, and as we get there we see the ride had been shut down for a repair. We were bummed but went over to a different ride. While waiting in line there we see the roller coaster is now working, so Adam and Josh run over there to get in line and get a baby swap pass for me to go once they get off (Ben wasn't tall enough to ride). So while they wait in line I go to find Ben and Jenn on a smaller ride. While waiting there for them Josh called and said they were done and had the pass for me, just as we start to go over there the Main Street Electrical Parade starts, and the park closes in 5 minutes! So we are trying to make our way back to the roller coaster. In the meantime my phone keeps ringing like every two minutes, Josh is calling to see where we are, Don is calling me asking where we are, my mom is calling because she wanted to go home.

my favorite - Autopia cars
We were fish that were trying to swim upstream and it just wasn't working so we had to end up waiting for the end of the parade before we could get back up to Josh and Adam. Well they got tired of waiting for me and used the pass on themselves! They went on the ride again! So we now have to get out of the park because the calls are coming more frequently now, so we start running, yes running to the front of the park. Only one problem - the stupid parade! We hit it at every turn, we can't get out, and let me tell you how unbearably slow this parade is! I am starting to stress out because everyone is still calling, but now they are getting mad, thinking we are stalling on purpose. In the end we had to sit and wait again for the dang parade to be over before finally making it out of the park at 9:20, and I never even got to ride the roller coaster that I went there to ride in the first place! Despite that little fiasco we had a great time. The kids were troopers and managed to hang in there until 11:30pm when we left. We LOVE Disneyland!

California

We had a great trip out to California a few weeks ago. The kids and I went out for 2 weeks, but Don was only able to join us for one week. Which meant I ended up flying there and back with alone with the kids, let me tell you how fun that was! We had a great time seeing all of our aunts, uncles, cousins, grandmas, etc. I was horrible about taking pictures, I only took pictures of our Disneyland trip (post still to come). Suffice it to say we had a blast, we had a large family picnic, we played at the park, played on the slip and slide, went swimming, went shopping, went to Disneyland, went to the beach with aunt Andrea, had a guitar hero party, went on a group date, slept in, ate at all the yummy places I like that we don't have in Texas, and of course we had to have the family picture! It was so good to go back home, I wish we could have stayed longer. We love and miss you all and hope to see you soon!
P.S.
Mom you will have to send me some of your pictures since I was such a flake!

OUCH!!!

Poor Ben, he had to have one of his fillings fixed the other day. Dr. Brown got him numb and he did great. However while he was numb he kept biting his lip. I tried putting cotton in there and everyone at the office kept reminding him not to bite his lip. Unfortunately at the end of the day this is what we had - Benjamin "fat lip" Wilde.

To me it looks like it should hurt like crazy, it is all blistered up on the inside, but he is a trooper and says it doesn't really hurt. Poor guy, I feel bad for him. Let this be a lesson to all - Don't chew on your lip when it is numb!

Look who's walking!

Lilly is so cute! She really started walking on Sunday, oh sure she took one or two steps here and there, but Sunday while I was sitting in the foyer with her at church she just took off. She has been going since then, trying to keep her balance and move across the room. We love her so much, she is so silly we are always laughing!

Happy 4th of July

We had a great 4th of July. The morning started with the Haslet 4th of July parade thru downtown Haslet (the whole 3 blocks of it!). This was the fourth year we have participated in the parade and it just gets bigger every year. After the parade we walked around the park for a little while where some of the local business and churches had set up bounce houses, games, and free food. There was ice cream, snow cones, pizza, popcorn, nachos, starbucks, and hot dogs. It was of course very hot and humid, so we did not stay for to long. Too help everyone stay cool the fire department brought out a fire hose and were hosing the kids down with water, they were drenched, but they loved it!

Later in the afternoon we went swimming with some friends before heading back home for fireworks. We bought on large firework this year that Ben picked out it was called "Battle at the Alamo". It was great it shot off 4 fireworks into the air at a time, and they were the big ones, Ben was so proud of his choice. Our friends the Buckwalter's came over and helped us set off some fireworks. We had plenty to watch as well, we were encircled by our neighbors who were all setting off tons of big fireworks. It was like having our own fireworks display in the front yard, it happens every year and it is amazing.
