Eagles Pride Winner

Aliza with Mrs. Griffin the principal

Friday the 13th was a lucky day in the Wilde house! Aliza recieved the Eagles Pride Award at school today. This is an award given to out every six weeks to one student from each grade level. Aliza was selected as the Kindergarten winner. Aliza was chosen for courage which was the theme the school was concentrating on during this 6 week period. It was great to see her so excited to win, she was given a trophy and a special eagle shirt that you can only get by being chosen for Eagles Pride. We are so proud of her! Her day got even better when later that afternoon she got her cast off, she had been counting down the days! She said the first thing she was going to do when she got her cast off was to go home and take a hot bath! How funny is that, she is so dramatic!
When we got to the school that morning we found out from Ben's teacher that he was chosen to read the poem he wrote for "strut your stuff". He was also very excited, and we were glad we were there to hear it, he was the only one chosen from his class as well. I will post the video I took of him later. Ben is such a smart boy and we are so proud of him as well!

One Fall Night

We were all out in the backyard a few nights ago getting some yard work done and I decided to take a few pictures, it was such a nice evening and fun to be able to be outside running around

Red Oak tree finally changing color

Lilly was enjoying pulling the leaves off the tree

Enjoying a good book

Our poor neglected dog Winston

Hello Farmer John! Can you believe he actually goes out like this!

We end with cuteness

Hanging out with friends

The Thatcher's came over one night to hang out with us and this is how everyone ended up. On the floor in sleeping bags watching the Nightmare before Christmas. When they started the movie I never thought they would all stay there but they did, nice and quiet until the end of the movie!

HalLowEEn!!

We had a great Halloween this year. Ben dressed up as a TCU football player, Aliza was Snow White, and Lilly was a frog (which she loved!). We had a Halloween party at our house which was so much fun. Don hooked the wagon up to the lawn tractor and gave the kids hay rides, that was a big hit. We played a few games, had a pinata, and some delicious food! After the party we headed out to go trick or treating. Lilly loved getting candy and had no problem keeping up (well dad was carrying her most of the way!). Aliza was the first to drop out, but Ben wanted to keep going until midnight! They got tons of candy and were very tired the next day but had so much fun. Thanks to all our friends who came to celebrate with us, WE LOVE HALLOWEEN!!

How do you eat a donut off a string with no hands?! Nice pose Ben

How cute is Lilly

Trying to break open the pinata - that thing was made of steel - they were hitting it so hard that the candy inside was being knocked out of the packages!

The oh so cute and yummy food! (Summer is responsible for the cuteness of the table)

Kindergarten Zoo Trip

Aliza's kindergarten class took a trip to the Fort Worth Zoo at the end of October, I'm glad we did it in the fall this year it was not as crowded as it usually is in the spring. Lilly and I were able to go with her. It was a chilly day and the animals were not as active as they usually are, but we still had a good time. Lilly loved seeing all of the animals.

Trying to find birds to feed under the rock!

I took like 10 pics of them at lunch and this was the best I got!

Notice all the food in front of Lilly - she wanted it all

Goodbye October!

I love the month of October, the weather finally cools down, the leaves start to change and to me it signals the start of the holiday season. This year I am glad to see October go! This was the month of injuries and sickness in our house. Aliza started us off on October 1st with H1N1 (swine flu). She was down for a week, just when I thought we would all escape Lilly came sown with the flu. Just as Lilly was starting to get better, Aliza came home from school complaining of her thumb hurting. As soon as I looked at it I knew it was broken, it was so swollen and black and blue up her hand. So off we went to urgent care where sure enough she had a buckle fracture right where the thumb meets her hand (left side). We had to have it casted a few days later, she has to be in the cast for 4 weeks! I guess she had fallen down at the end of PE which is at the end of the day. She told the PE teacher it hurt and the pe teacher just told her to tell her regular teacher Mrs. Henry. Mrs Henry looked at it and told her to have her mom put ice on it when she got home and put her on the bus! I was livid at first, how could they not send her to the nurse or even call me. Well the next day when she showed up with a splint on her finger and Ben told everyone that she had broken her thumb the teachers felt horrible! They both called and apologized for not calling me that day they thought she was fine which is understandable kids fall down all the time and are fine. But it was nice of them to call.

Aliza with her cast, obviously it doesn't slow her down!

A few days later Ben was playing at a friends house and some how he ended up face down on the floor complaining of his nose. The next day, yep his nose was all swollen and bruised!

Not a good picture but you can see it's swollen

Then not to be out done a few days later, Lilly pulled her whole dresser down on top of her!! That was scary, luckily she only ended up with a bruise and cut across the bridge of her nose. I though CPS was going to show up at my door!

Everyone is healed up now, and Aliza gets her cast off in 4 days, hopefully no more trips to the Dr. any time soon!

Singing for dad

Last post for today!! This was for Don's birthday, the kids wanted to put it on, sorry my recording skills need some improvement!

Aliza' dance

It is kind of hard to see her, look for her curly ponytail, she is standing behind the dancer in the white skirt and top!

Wilde Designs (Limited Edition)

We attempted a Halloween craft yesterday, we let the kids design their own halloween t-shirts. They did a pretty good job as well. In the end mom and dad ended up doing most of the work because it required alot of cutting and ironing, but the designs are all theirs (except of course Lilly's). Poor Aliza we kept running out of letters for what she wanted written on her shirt so she finally agreed to batitude - she wanted bats because they were learning about them at school. We also tried to make forked eyeballs, but our doughnut holes kept falling apart! We will have to attempt those another time!

Dancing with the Sidekicks

A few weeks ago Aliza was able to go to a dance clinic put on by the Northwest High School drill team (The SideKicks). They held a clinic for the girls all day on saturday and taught them a dance that they would then get to perform with the drill team during the pre-game show at the football game. Aliza of course was very excited, she even got to wear make up which she loved even more! She was partnered that night with one of the team captains who just kept fawning over her and how cute she was, Aliza ate that right up. It was a cute performance and fun to finally see our first Texas high school football game! The stadium was so nice, much nicer then the local junior college back home, Ben and Don stayed the whole time, but I took the girls home early before they got too cranky. Next Aliza wants to try cheerleading!

I have a video of the dance I will try and post later tonight :)

Walking out to the field

Both football teams have these large inflatable helments that all the kids in the stands get to come down and run through before the players come on the field.

Potty Training

Well a few weeks ago we decided to take the plunge into potty training, and it has been surprisingly smooth! Lilly is doing great at first she refused to go potty in the toilet, she
had no problem going poop which was the opposite of the others so I was fine with that. It did not take long before she had the other down as well. We are 2 1/2 weeks in and have had only a handful of accidents Yeah!! This post however should explain why in so many pictures lately she is only wearing panties, it is much easier then removing all her clothes every 30 minutes for a potty run!
