Festivities on the 4th of July!!!

So for the 5th consecutive year, the kids participated in the Haslet 4th of July parade. I actually tried to talk them out of riding their bikes and just watching the parade this year but they would have none of it! Aliza wanted to ride her bike and Ben volunteered to drive Lilly in the power wheels with him. The weather was little better this year, the was actually a breeze so it wasn't as stifling as usual! After the parade we headed over to the park for the Haslet party. The first year we were here they simply handed out ice cream sandwiches to the kids after the parade but it has grown each year, and in our opinion this was the best one yet. It spanned the whole park, there were tents set up for shade and ice cold water everywhere. Everything was free - hot dogs, ice cream, water, pizza, sno cones, bounce houses, games, and even balloons. It is just everything you picture a small town celebration to be, it had such a great atmosphere and was just so fun.
Later that night we had several friends over for BBQ, swimming, and fireworks. Everyone brought a ton of fireworks so we had a great show! The kids had a great time watching and even getting to help with some of the fireworks. It was so much fun it may have to become a 4th of July tradition!

Lilly did not like the sparkler
